Fokus Tanz promotes accessibility to participation in culture and engagement with current art forms. In tailor-made projects, the Fokus Tanz team realises interdisciplinary projects in cooperation with theatres, museums, orchestras, associations and freelance artists, which focus on the joy of artistic processes and techniques and the promotion of personal development and team building.
We cooperate with various cultural and arts organisations in Munich, including the Pinakotheken, Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus und Kunstbau München, Haus der Kunst, Münchner Philharmoniker and Münchner Kammerspiele.

EAST SIDE STORIES
Stories from Neuperlach. A theatre spectacle.
140 young people search for favourite places and their own points of view in the city and at school. They make theatre about the here and now. With dance and performance, video and sound, art and skill, they board the stage at the Schauspielhaus and bring their Neuperlach to Maximilianstraße. Together with artists and teachers, they join forces and set everything in motion, even a boat on the roof of the school. Courage, risk, adrenaline!
In cooperation with the Münchner Kammerspiele and four schools in Neuperlach:

EINE KOOPERATION VON NEUPERLACHER SCHULEN, FAHRENDER RAUM, FOKUS TANZ, KINDER- UND JUGENDTREFF ZEITFREI & MÜNCHNER KAMMERSPIELE
Im Juli 2021 verbanden sich Neuperlacher Schul-Communities mit Künstler*innen und befragen ihre Stadt: What is the City? Was bedeutet ihnen ihr Stadtteil? Wie kommen sie darin vor? Was wollen sie verändern? Was sind ihre Vorstellungen für die Zukunft? Wie soll ihr Zusammenleben funktionieren? Sie zeigen es uns jetzt: Take a walk on the east side!
SENGA NENGUDI – POSTURES
Within the context of the exhibition "Senga Nengudi. Topologies" (2019/2020) Fokus Tanz was invited by the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus and Kunstbau München to intensively engage with the artist's work. In collaboration with a class of the Bertolt-Brecht-Gymnasium, a short film was created, which documents and reflects the postures of the students in the form of movement, sound, language or drawing.

CARAVAGGIO BEWEGT – EIN FILM, EIN TANZ UND NOCH VIEL MEHR
Schülerinnen und Schüler des Bertolt-Brecht-Gymnasiums, des Lycée Jean-Renoir, sowie das Jugendensemble “InBetween” standen im Mai 2019 zumeist das erste Mal vor der Kamera – für einen Kurzfilm im Rahmen der Ausstellung “Utrecht, Caravaggio und Europa”.
A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM – RICHARD-STRAUSS-FESTIVAL
In the summer of 2019, students from the 1st, 7th, and 8th grades of the Bürgermeister-Schütte Grund- und Mittelschule developed a dance piece, together with three choreographers from Fokus Tanz. Over a period of three weeks, they worked with the topics of dreams, wishes, and longings. For this, William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and the musical work of the same name by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy served as the basis and source of inspiration.
